** CALLING ALL PROSTATE MR RADIOGRAPHERS **
** CALLING ALL PROSTATE MR RADIOGRAPHERS **
We are interested in partnering with private or NHS MR radiographers who might be interested in piloting a baseline audit of AI powered radiographer reporting of prostate MRI. Specifically, looking for experienced and enthusiastic MR radiographer input into optimising this pilot for QSI Standard XR-517 to encourage participation from QSI compliant sites.
The reporting model would include autonomous radiograper reporting with AI based decision support on a dedicated advanced applications workstation. As per best practice, the Reporting Radiographer role would mandate regular attendance at the MDT for pathological feedback and peer learning (3). Ideally, we would involve a supportive local radiologist who reports MRI but this is not currently required.
Aside from working to the top of one's license (1), we see another advantages of this role extension as addressing the huge problem of variable image quality which is widely cited as a main challenge to consistent quality in MR prostate imaging and reporting (2). Experienced MR radiographers in this role would be well placed to both recognise and regulate how sub-optimal image quality affected report/AI performance. Also to make recommendations in their report on how to improve subsequent MR prostate studies.
Current aims are to share ideas and submit a conference poster presenting this idea. No prior academic or formal reporting experience is required. We can support on these fronts as required.
